Today Jim and I had the honor of representing NESA members at the official opening of the revamped Grace Darling Museum. A church ceremony, dedicated to the memory of the brave 22 year old whose strength and courage saved many lives, was followed by a tour of the new museum which looks like a fantastic place to visit. It is small but kids will find it full of interesting items and interactive models. The education room upstairs is fully equipped and will get lots of use with the subject being included in the national curriculum. This link is the news report. It is interesting to check out the link on the previous post to see how the building took shape over such a short space of time.

NESA has always supported the RNLI but chose to support this particular project in order to provide youngsters with information on the dangers of the sea and an appreciation of the acts of bravery that we hope we never need. It was with great pleasure that we also handed over the cash from our latest fundraising efforts. Photos to follow.
