Just to put some costs into perspective, I\'ve been doing some sums:

In only a few short years, NESA has raised £7,035 for the RNLI.
That figure is fantastic on its\' own, but when you understand just what that money is enough to provide, it\'s a STAGGERING amount.

To kit out each member of a lifeboat crew costs £440.

The largest of the RNLI boats is the Severn class (Tynemouth has a Severn class boat) and it has 6 crew. The money NESA has raised is enough to kit out the crew of TWO AND A HALF Severn class boats.......that\'s 2.5 lifeboat stations

The Atlantic 75 boats have a crew of 3. The money NESA has raised is enough to kit out the crew of over 5 Atlantic 75s......that\'s over 5 lifeboat stations.

The total amount of money NESA has raised would only go part way TOWARDS the costs of the vandalism and stolen items from Cullercoats. ........sobering thought !
