Default The Jester Mull Of Galloway

Heavy seas would not allow us to get to our tope marks, found a nice sandbank less than half a mile offshore, four rods rigged for tope, as soon as they hit the bottom the reels were screaming,a bit caotic at one time all four were hooked up to a tope, this continued for a good two hours all fish were between thirty and forty pounds, we fish the M.O.G on a regular basis, but this trip made the other less productive trips all worth while.

Well done, it's great when you get in amongst a pack in a feeding frenzy and all hell breaks loose as opposed to when they're being picky and running with the baits and dropping them all the time.

Tony, Most use a running ledger rig with a slider, good quality swivel, 150lb mono rubbing/handling leader and a short length of 150/200lb wire trace to 6/0 barbless hook. Some like to use 200lb mono for the hook lengh but I feel safer with wire. Their teeth are like razors and I once lost a good fish at the side of the boat when it bit through 75lb wire like it was cotton

Best fishing you can get in the UK IMO if using the right gear
