Always wear shades! Really, that's the best piece of advice I can give. Never stab yourself in the heart before you have your rod assembled and always go for the most expensive piece of kit in the shop.
Hope this helps cocomonkay

Compared to that, the Northumbrian Anglers Federation is practically giving it away at £30 per day. There are a few cheaper bits though. There's Tyne Green, which is about a fiver a day, as is the Wylam AC water, I believe (tickets from Spar). There's even a very small free stretch at Corbridge, although I've never quite figured out exactly where it is. Another cheap way of getting on the river is to join Four in One AC, which for £22 a year gets you Tyne Green as well as the club's small stretch at Wylam. Like Mark said though, it's a bloody great big river and possibly not the most straightforward for the beginner. Maybe I'm just speaking for myself, but I've been fly-fishing a couple of years now and I wouldn't know where the hell to start with most of the Tyne. I'd maybe think about the Derwent or the Wear instead while you find your feet. |

I would start at the resevoir. £20 all day at Derwent. I,ve been today and i caught 4 Rainbows. Biggest 3-1/2 pound. You can get lots of tips and advice from other anglers.
I also fish the Derwent river but its hard work catching those brownies. Wise up quick them fish.Annual subs under £50. And every time you fish Derwent Resevoir you get a concession.£2 off so its only £18 for me at the resevoir. Oh and if you keep your receipts after 7 visits you can fish free for the day. Got my seventh today so next session free. Mick.
