  • Advice - selling multipliers

OK, I've just put some multipliers up on eBay.

Basically I want to change what I don't use into stuff that I will use, so the multipliers are going and I want a couple of Penn spinning reels. I am after a Penn Clash 2500 and 3000 and/or a Penn Spinfisher V SSV3500

Should I be eBay-ing or looking to sell privately ?

Multiplier reels I am selling are:

    1. Abu Ambassadeur 6500 C3 CT Mag Elite (totally unused)

    2. Abu Ambassadeur 7000 (used a handful of times)

    3. Daiwa Sealine SL30SH (used a couple of times)

    4. Abu Ambassadeur 5000 in original leather case, with spares (used, but not by me in the donkey's years I've owned it)

That leaves me with a couple of 6500 and 6000 Abu reels, including a lovely 6500 Ultra-Cast, which I am happy enough using. The ones listed above just don't/won't get used though.

Advice appreciated on which way to jump.

Be careful As soon as they have bids on in eBay your stuck there or you'll be charged at whatever price there at if you end early

            Back story:

Abu Ambassadeur 6500 C3 CT Mag Elite is Mint, never used. I bought two of these years ago and this one has sat unused all this time.

Abu Ambassadeur 7000 - I fished with this a handful of times from the rocks at Dunstanburgh, but when my Century rods were stolen the reel ended up sitting unused for years.

Daiwa Sealine SL30SH - I used this reel twice but it got shelved when my Century rods were stolen, so it has been dry stored for years.

Abu Ambassadeur 5000 in original leather case, with spares - I've owned this for more than 30 years but never used it. It was obviously used before it came into my ownership. Original leather case, container of spares, original reel oil and tool all present and correct.

I know the 5000 is a niche appeal reel, and not in the best of condition, but it's functionally sound and works exactly as it ought to.

The Mag Elite still has the original grease/oil film all over it that it shipped with

I have no clue what the values should be. I don't want to take the mick out of people but it would be nice to realise a fair value to go towards the reels I want.

This is not a sales thread and I'm not touting - I am years out of fishing and only recently returned to it (doing kayak fishing though, not heavy rock/shore stuff) so I'm totally out of touch.

            Thoughts/advice very much appreciated.

I think that the 5000 would be of great interest to any abu collectors, of which there is often a few asking for old reels on w.s.f. I may be wrong but it could be your most valuable .

Thanks everyone for your comments (and questions).

                    The reels are on eBay.

As previously mentioned this was never intended to be a sales or touting thread - I just wanted a rough idea of what to expect going forward.
