  • Blast Beach 4-2-18

Hi all haven't posted any reports for a bit so here is mine
fished our local competition yesterday 3pm-8pm 40 minutes slog along the beach half a stone lighter with sweat I lost lol .
Started at the stack lovely big swell rolling in thoughts looks coddy
2 hours later not a bite but seen 2 codling caught further along the beach
next cast tap tap tap slack line panick turned out to be a nice 1-1/2lb whiting another 2 casts later crabbed off .
So I up sticks and moved back along the noth end of the beach were our lass was fishing she only had 2 under size codling's
Cast out with 2 hours remaining 6 oclock slack tide crabbed off again
Next cast tap tap thoughts another whiting then bang massive pull over and kept over ran to rod slack line tightened line up and striked solid so started pumping it in right to last big breaker then couldn't move it 10 minutes later with a lot of pressure out popped this whiting then when the swell went back a nice 5-1/2 lb cod belly hooked thought fish of a life time never mind won H,S,F, AND 3RD PLACE SO ALL WAS NOT LOST

Good result. Yeah it's always a weird fight when you foul hook a fish.

Thanks Geordie. I must give it a go before the season finishes, and to pull a fish of there would bring back lovely memories. Thanks again
