SUNDERLAND: BOAT COMP - MAY 2005

This was the 3rd of our boat fishing comps in aid of a N.E. lifeboat station.

The skippers of theTyne charter boats "Mistress", "Tallisman" and "Sarah JFK" again offered their services - joined this year by "Abyss" and "Diablo", also from the Tyne. As he did last year, Joe Skinner also took his boat, "Sarah", out with a full compliment of anglers aboard.

There was also a good number of small, private boat entries again and in all, 14 boats carrying 85 anglers took part in the event.


Once again, the Royal Quays Marina at North Shields not only allowed the event to be staged from there, but also, (as they did last year), provided the 3 trophies for the competition winners.......many thanks to Brian Wilkes of the RQ.

Adding the amount raised in the on-line auction, a cheque from NESA to the value of £1,500 will be handed over to the Sunderland RNLI Station just as soon as arrangements can be made.

This brings the total raised by NESA for the RNLI to over £6,500.
