Why did you change?

I ask because I have always used the albright

I found pulling out of snags the albright leader knot always give before anything else and found the spider hitch to be stronger

There is an app that you can download to your phone called Knot Wars, there are many knots on there with diagrams of how to tie them

What knot do you lads use for attaching the Bimini to the leader? I've been using the Yucatan but have had problems with them coming undone after a session or two, probably because the tag end goes through the rings first on the cast...

Slim Beauty for me, been using it for years with or without the Bimini - briefly tried the Yucatan but found it bulky and also had it come apart. I've never had this knot fail & it tapers nicely making it go through the rings smoothly - with the Bimini just substitute the loop for the doubled-over length of line shown in the video.
