Default Rub Leader & Knots

Quick question lads, Do you use braid? if so do you use a Rub Leader? I do but have never found a knot i'm happy with for connecting the two so i ended up tying a small swivel to the braid and then coming off there with my rub leader. But im still not happy with the knot as i lost a couple of good fish this year. So what knots do you all use?

Same here, albright knot every time. Very strong when properly tied, and you can use a longer leader if necessary as the knot goes easily through the rod rings

You could try a reversed albright Phil, bottom of page on this link -

Power Pro Braided Spectra @ the Power Pro Superstore

With that one, the leader wraps round the braid, so may help with cutting. Or, you could use fluorocarbon for your leader....won`t get cut as easily by the braid, and a good leader choice anyway due to it`s abrasion resistance

Default Double Albright

Phil,

I use a Double Albright, found it much better to tie and haven't had any issues with it yet.

After trying various knots for braid to leader I stick with one called a 'slim beauty' now. Never had on break on me, always been knot to lure/hook that gone first in the event of a snag up.

Here's a link to a a vid that shows how to tie one up
