NESA - North East Sea Angling: Making your own bait clips Making your own bait clips ================================================================================ nesa on 17 August, 2006 12:00:00 To make your own bait clips is really easy. You need - stainless steel wire and the outer casing of some electrical cable (just bigger in diameter than the wire). Cut a piece of wire about 3cm long and a shorter piece of cable casing 2cm long. (Fig A) Bend the wire as shown in Fig B. To your trace add a crimp, a bead and the cable casing. Slide the wire into the cable casing and bend over the straight end to form a tag (this prevents the bait clip being pulled out) Slide the bait clip up or down so that it is in the correct position for your hook to clip onto. Nip the crimp carefully.
