    WEST HOUSE FISHING REPORT 7/5/14

The catches are getting better and better this last week. There have been some prolific Hawthorn hatches and the fish have gone crazy on the surface. Any Black Dry pattern has been effective during these rises or alternatively a Dry on the point and a slim black buzzer on the dropper has attracted loads of fish. Evening sport is now very good with the fishery open until 8pm every evening

Some huge catches this week. Season ticket holders Lee Cartmell of Middlesborough and Shaun Burnside of Heighington have been making the most of the conditions both landing over 20 fish in each session on dries and buzzers. Harry Hutchinson from Norton landed a lovely 14lb Rainbow caught on a mini cats whisker, the largest fish of his career. Ian Glass had an excellent session landing 24 fish. Local angler Dennis Woods landed nearly 30 fish on a variety of flies including a sunken Daddy. P Emmerson of Pittington Co Durham caught rainbow estimated at 14lb. I could go on loads and loads of big bags have been caught

Best Flies: Black buzzer GRHE nymph Hare's ear emerger/shipmans Lake olive dun Black beetle
