WEST HOUSE FISHING REPORT 23/08/11
News. : Tagged fish weekend at West House on Saturday and Sunday 3rd + 4th September
The lakes are stocked with 25 tagged fish. Catch a tagged fish to win prizes including Whiskey, Day tickets, Tackle etc. Free barbecue, hot and cold drinks etc.
General : Loads of activity on the surface and sub surface at the moment. The fish seem to be in a feeding frenzy at different times of the day but the trick is to find that killing pattern. Small patterns are working best either buzzers, nymphs or dries.
Best Catch: Dr Peter Fletcher of Eaglescliffe had an excellent day landing 17 Rainbows, 1Brown and 2 Roach. Peter concentrates on small natural patterns and indeed 9 of his fish were caught on size 32 (YES size 32) flies. If you seem him fishing on the lakes ask to see his perfect flies.
John Richardson of Yarm caught 7 fish the best a Brown of 7pm most of his fish falling to Black buzzers.
David Moorcroft of Barnard Castle caught a nice rainbow of 11pm on a Black Hopper
Flies to use: Black spiders, Diawl Bach, Damsels, Shuttlecock buzzers, Hares Ear
