posted on 25/8/2004 at 20:42Tried Roker Pier last fri night, closed (Big tide perhaps cos the sea wasn't running) Had plenty kit to fish rocks or beach but went to the Ratty. said to our lass before I set off "Not expecting owt and I bet the crap coming down the river will be mental" she replied "What? Do I look like I care?" Long and short of it, hardly held bottom, 3 casts , each took 20 mins to retrieve due to the amount of **** ing hedge clippings / sea grass. Thought I'll compensate by using only massive crab baits. (aye stop giggling) Was wound up before I went out (that's why I went) and ended up raging at the sea, ripping me rod up and down and generally taking a louie. Got home, killed the wife felt much better. Moral is ..............if it's relaxation you're after kill a wife.
Oh yeah and don't fish the river mouth when Noah's on his way downstream.
