NWSA results 17.09.06
It was never going to be a good day for casting but we were hopeful of reasonable distances. The court was set out with the Southerly breeze from 0 to 5mph and it promptly swung across the court after the first round. We changed the court at lunch time and the wind stopped, but then came back across the court again. At least it was dry and warm with 17c and barometric pressure rising 1012 ,but the distances reflect the conditions on the day. Not to be out done or phased by this, junior caster Jack Naylor upped his pb to 58 yds showing us oldies up!
Newcomers Chris Harlin, Micky Kay, Ted Hamilton Smith and Jason Earle all tried out the oche with favourable results for their first time. There were a few crack offs, but with the free line available at the events, kindly given by ULTIMA, there was a queue for it most of the day!
