Mapyx launches Easter egg hunt competition

Mapyx Ltd, the new player in the digital mapping market that “beats the others out of site” (according to a recent reviewer*), today announces the launch of another exciting competition for all the family. Following the success of its ‘Great Christmas Pud Hunt’, Mapyx has loaded a fun search on its website to find 50 hidden Easter eggs – all you do answer the (difficult!) clues using Free Quo Go software.

“This game is a perfect introduction to digital mapping”, says Uros Pecek, the MD of Mapyx. “Adults and children can use the game to explore the capabilities of Quo and have great fun while they play. Some of the clues are general knowledge, some are quirky and a few will need a bit of Googling and Wiki research.”

First to find each egg wins a prize, each day’s clues give a letter for a ten letter springtime anagram, which contestants then submit. All correct entries will enter a special draw for more prizes. New clues will arrive each day until 15th April, and the competition will stay open until the end of April, so enter any time.

Prizes include;
– a PDA Mio P350 with preloaded Quo Mobile Planner and Quo PRO Pack for the  Springtime Anagram Prize Draw
– 5 Quo PROs drawn from all who enter the competition
– 50 first-to-find the egg prizes of a 25K map tile (plus a discount voucher for your next purchase).
Entrants can choose either to answer clues to find the eggs, or search the map by scrolling and zooming.

First step is to download the free basic software package from Mapyx " Quo Go.
It includes a complete Ordnance Survey Miniscale® GB map, Getmapping aerial photography for Great Britain and project software for route planning. Users can also add drawings, text and pictures to maps using sticky notes and it even has a live GPS link. Simply download from www.mapyx.com to start the Quo adventure. The free version is fully functional and is not time limited.

NEW NEW NEW.  Quo Go now includes 3-D imaging, and there’s a 14-day free trial of Quo Pro, for those who want to experience the wider range of Quo’s capabilities.

Players must enrol in the prize game at www.mapyx.com/default.asp?pg=prizegame then Mapyx will send a link to the prize game by email " which hides 50 little Easter eggs on the Quo map of Great Britain (included in the free download). A clue page helps to locate them and players can then use Quo’s great digital mapping tools to find the eggs. Zoom in and magnify, then click on the eggs to reveal a prize code and
one letter of our grand prize anagram. Five questions will be released each day from 6 April, but players can begin anytime until the end of the month.
