Nikwax floats a boat

The Proof is in the Pudding

Nikwax specializes in reproofing your outdoor gear: if your kit leaks the odds are that Nikwax has a solution to fix it with its low cost, environmentally friendly range of reproofing products.  And if you don’t believe it’s that simple take a look at its latest activity: a coat for a boat.

Casting Off… A Coat for a Boat is a community project and required 250 knitters from around the world to knit a coat for a 21ft fishing boat made from strips of recycled cotton hospital blankets.  So that this unique coat wasn’t reminiscent of pre-war soggy knitted swimming costumes Nikwax Cotton Proof was applied keeping water out and enabling the boat to float without disaster on the River Tyne and outside the Alexandra Palace, London.

Nicola Withers, Nikwax Marketing says: “It took 10 x 300ml bottles of Nikwax to cover the gargantuan coat and speaking to the organizers of the event, it did the trick.  There was no pull in the water from soggy, dragging cotton.”

If your outdoor kit’s a bit leaky don’t buy new stuff check out Nikwax – available from most outdoor stores nationwide.  For around £8 you can get that water beading off again in no time.  For stockist details:  www.nikwax.com  or call 01892 786400.
