I must be doing it wrong

I don't believe that there are any fish in the North Sea. I have spent hours today stood on the beach with my rod in my hand and not even a nibble. I lost 3 lures and snapped the 2nd from the end section of my telescopic rod. Had frozen battered haddock for tea with thick chips.

Hard luck mate. Try the rivers mate thats where all the fish are. Big seas forecast this week so bit of luck it will bring in some fishes:) Welcome to NESA.

Thanks for the support. I will try again later in the year when the seas are a but rougher.
I have only ever cought 2 mackerel when I was 14ish off a boat in Poole harbour.

Chin up steve mate, I'd been blanking for about a month until recently but just keep going out and plugging away, you'll start catching soon for sure.

theres plenty fish mate iv had 2 trips this winter and had 10 cod most of them around the 3 to 5lb mark just keep going mate you will get there in the end

Steven do you mind if i ask what you mean by lures.
If you fish from a beach or pier you need bait such as ragworm or mackeral on hooks and rigs.
If you fish from the pier you cast it into the water and wait. The thing about the pier is its deep water.
Sorry to sound like a know all but it sounds like you remind me of the lad me and insano were watching the other week off Steetly who was still using feathers.

Mick.

Seriously???? do you want a new fishing buddy? Lol...
I havn't had that many cod in years

I had my big rod loaded with worms and to give me something to do while waiting for the big bite was spinning with a smaller rod with obvious lack of success. :)
