Sea state 3/2/08

Any one now what the seas like at the Moment flat/rough? Might head out 4 a few hours 2nite thats all.

It was flatish with a bit of a roll - nothing to get excited about I'm affraid

Thanks Jimbobs 4 the information, me thinks unless we get a good blow soon the cod season is over until the crab come on 2 peel where u get a few smaller fresh runs taking you're crab baits of local piers etc.

Have seen shields pier fish v. v. well during and after a blow this time of year.

Ive been all over the knot end 2nite. Sea has been picking up all the time. I fished at whitburn, trow and target, bites but no fish for me but the sea lifting has brought a few fresh run codling in.

Any cod caught any where then 2nite?

Aye, biggest was 4lb from lower tyne jetty. Few fish to a couple of pounds same mark. Rock marks at the back of whitburn produced a few to 2-3lb. Bit naughty on a few marks though with the tides not being the best, should be more accessible over the next few days.
