  • Any mackerel about?

Going out of Hartlepool tomorrow as it looks like the only decent day of the weekend. Has anyone seen any mackerel in the area yet?

Jason, if you're reading this, I texted you earlier in the week, if you didn't get it and you want to join us give me a ring.

Yes we had about 100 on the jfk last Friday, not far out at all.
I felt them hitting my pirk ont he way down so changed onto small daylights and stopped them mid-water..results 3-5 at a time.

Were you as sun burnt as me then :0) i was red as a thing that is very red on Friday night

Your crab worked well at craster, the coalie loved them on a flowing trace.

              Cheers

They dont seem to be in large shoals and the one si have seen so far this year are way smaller than the normal for the north east coats, more the sw coast size.

Was out on Flamer2 from hartlepool last tuesday with no mackrel caught , also some friends who went out saturday got none. We did see shoals on the finder that the skipper reakoned could be mackrel but we were not trying for them.

A mate is going out thursday andI will report if any are showing before the weekend.

                      Cheers
                      Dave.
