  • First winter session of season 17/11/13

Went out for the first time in almost 2 months on Sunday, hit a mark near the can and put the pik down. Not much catching, about 6 cod all day caught, biggest being around 3 pound, apart from that, just the usual scotchies, wrasse and the odd coalie popping up now and then, but majority of fish caught were undersized. Moved closer in to near the piers, with 2 more cod caught, the day went dead in terms of fishing and sea was starting to pick up.

Surprisingly not one whiting caught, not even near the piers. In total around only 12 keepable fish on board, between 5 of us, all having 2 rods out each. Hopefully the fishing picks up a bit over the coming weeks, will keep posting/
Species List: Cod, Whiting, Coalfish, Mackerel, Eel, Spurdog, Butterfish, Plaice, Poor Cod, Dab, Lamprey (Hag Fish) Ling, Scorpion Fish, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Thornback Ray, Pollack, Pouting, Flounder, Wrasse.

CONGER AND GURNARD DESPERATLEY WANTED TO BE ADDED!

Out on sunday as well ,very surprised as we we caught nothing but whiting
They were all of a good stamp, had three over 2lb which on light tackle do give a bit of sport.
Looking forward to next trip out when weather settles again.
