  • Recomendationations?

    Hello All

Been chatting with a friend who is head chef at a new pub in Newcasttle. They are looking to extend their fish menu and would like to go and catch their own...

Good luck to them, any suggestions of a good skipper to take the chef and owner out to catch some good local produce?

It was more of an excuse for a day out and a bit of a PR story for their social media feeds, rather than to stock the fridges of the Kitchen.

Totally forgot about the whole license aspect of it in terms of the legality. Doh!

the law can be an ass with pr in mind give the place a plug on here which pub is it.

they might be able to blag a day oot on a trawler to "validate" what they are buying

If they want to promote the restaurant with fresh chef caught fish , maybe putting the fish meals on the menu that night as freebies might be a way round the licence ? It would bring punters in , get them some good publicity , ale sales and hopefully if the place is any good some future return customers.

Cheers Guys, they are some great idea's.

Its The Northumberland Hussar, on Sackville Road in Heaton. It's mint, and there are loads of good ale's.
