    Hi,
Just happened upon this site and wondered if any of you chaps could recommend a decent boat that runs out of Bridlington / whitby. I\'m looking for a little better than we normally get for our £30 a head i.e a few small bits and pieces and a couple of miles out if we\'re lucky.. There would be enough of us to charter and we could go midweek and most of us would have our own gear. Ideally we want to have at least a chance of a decent cod/ling /pollock although we appreciate their are no guarantees in angling.Any help much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi codpieface1 welcome to NESA mate If you have a look at the top of the boat forum you will see Charter boats. There is one in there from Whitby.

I have no doubt that someone will give you some more info.

Nice to see a few of us using our proper names too lol.

    Jim.

Where are you traveling from and have you tried Hartlepool. The price of a charter there is £25 and most of the guys who charter have a good reputation. If you want more details on Hartlepool please just ask.

You will be hard pushed to find a charter out of Whitby for £30.
The going price on a weekend seems to be £40 - £50
For Brid try Striker. Skipper is Palmer Cockerill and you can phone him on : 01262 674605 or 07778 969194. Bait is provided free, as are boat rods if you need them.
We are only down the road from you (Knottingley, Nr Pontefract) and it is actually quicker to get to hartlepool than Whitby.
If you try Hartlepool Flamer II comes well recommended.

                  MarinerKenny,
Have been out of Grimsby a few times as I work there (without much avail ) and also Brid & Whitby (again without much to shout about).Have in the years gone by fished out of the North coast of Ireland, also the south of england, specifically Plymouth and Looe in Cornwall so I know what a decent day\'s boat fishing can produce.I just dont seem to have much luck up in this part of the world when it comes to charters and to be honest I\'ve caught much better fish from the shore.

56 pollack were landed between 8 of us, as were 7 flatties (Turbot & Brill), 3 doggies and a large Garfish. And that lot was on a bad tide to fish !!!
