Fished out of Hartlepool today - Thanks to Jason who sorted us out at short notice. Heavy rain as we left Kafiga at 0645. Steamed south and the rain stopped just as we started fishing, from there on it was a lovely warm sunny day. Seen a whale a couple of times just breaking surface, a great site to see. Not hopeful of many fish due to the very large tide but you never know. No wind at all on the morning so hardly any drift. Most people ended up with a few fish. I got four cod to 7.5 lb, a ling, haddock and loads of whities and mackerel. The wind picked up a bit on the afternoon and holding bottom was a problem so the fish dried up. Tried a number of wrecks but no fish at all. I don't think it was down to the tide and wind just think there are no fish on the wrecks. All fish today were on the hard ground. Wind dropped off again and we tried a number of wrecks on the way back but again no fish. Arrived back in at 1700 hours sun burnt and knackered. Thanks for another good trip Jason.

We had loads of sandeel off Craster yesterday. - it must effect fishing. Real slow for us. We had a shower about 8.15 am and that was it.
    Mick.
