  • Fair Catch - Catch report

    Thursday 31st May 07

Left Hartlepool at about 1245 and headed north. The swell was not too bad but building. Steamed for about 5 miles then set the drift on rough ground. First drift nothing so decided to head further north for about 1 mile.

Did two drifts in this area as the sea was coming away all the time due to the strong se wind and the boat getting uncomfortable.

Four of us fished and ended the 4 hours out with 14 codling biggest about 3.5lb and 5 pleggies all caught on baited daylites with rag and squid.

    Still beat being at work.

    Kind regards Jason

Pleggies are the Trisopterus luscus fish or in english Pouting. What other names are there for them.
