after reading about jimmys sweet new PB i thought i should get some scales, coz i dunno what mine is!?!

it felt like a whale when i caught it and it was twice as big as the ones i normally catch at sharpley, so i guess it was about 4lbs!

    i took a snap

    so what's yours?

    cheers...........tom

          pb's

couple of pics for you.first one 20lb 1oz 2nd one 18lb 15 oz. first one fell to a humungus and the tiddler took a size 14 hares ear both taken from jubilee lakes.
got them within a fortnight of each other winter before last. must admit though i get much more satisfaction catching fish a fraction of the size from 'propa' waters. i'd say a fish of 5lb's oot tha derwent is a more satisfying achievement than pulling in one of sandra's 'pigs' that might of only been in the lake 10 minutes.
had a 13lb er from the middle lake at witton a couple of years ago and would probs class that as me best fish, also a 4 1/2lb blue from lockwood beck that took 3 barrels lol

soz for erring slightly off topic but I've always wondered why coarse/freshwater fish are seemingly denser when it comes to weight (kind of like lead IE lots of weight but not much size in proportion to said weight)

A Cod the same weight as Jimmys would be twice that size and a 20lber would almost be as tall as a full grown adult (slight exaggeration but you get my drift)

I've thought about this before when watching the brummy twosome of Hayes/Brown when they catch a seemingly (to me anyway) average Chubb or similar and they say things like "touching 10lb easy"...anyone else have an opinion on this? or am I rambling mindlessly wasting the last few minutes of my working week?

I'm not doubting the weights by the way - I'm 100% convinced they are what they are it's just a scientific mystery is all

maybe coz they live in relativley small waters compared to the sea or are slower growing or they're just fat cnuts
