  • A nice fish today.

Decided to have a few hours today, glad i did.
Hooked on my 4th cast on a size 8 Cascade.
It wieghed 22-1/2lb in the net, which wieghs 2lb when wet.
No pics as the lens on my phone was burred with something which i found out after returning the fish.
I ended up leaving the hook in as i would have caused too much damage trying to get it out.
Heres some footage taken on my headcam....

A 20lb salmon taken today 18-4-2012 from the river Wear.

Hooked and lost another further downstream,it was only on for seconds.

Hooked a fish like that on Easter sunday Alan.
I had an audience of about 30 people on the wall and the bridge, then i lost it after 10 minutes and they all sighed and i cursed.
Unless you mean the Snatchers, bit early in the year for them.....

Well done, you’re pulling them out at rate of knots.

The water in the vid looks very slow flowing, do you have to work and retrieve the fly much or do you just let it sink to fish slow and deep in the cold water?

There was a little flow and i fished square accross with a slow retrieve.
Had a lot of fish from there over the years, its usualy better with another 6 inches in for the fly.
I won,t be up for a couple of days now, theres 3ft went in overnight.
