  • First Attempt at Spey Fly

Spent the afternoon with the Ladies Fishing Club's coaches tying spey flies. This was the first time I had attempted anything like this but as usual Paul Little was very patient. My jaw drops everytime I see his fly tying materials as he has boxes full of beautiful feathers and threads in every colour you could imagine. The fly is far from perfect but I enjoyed making it

If any of you know any ladies or juniors who are interested in taking up fly fishing or tying please drop me a pm

Cracking first go at a traditional married wing fly,on a gut eyed hook as well.
Well done.It would look good in a nice frame.
When i first started tying flies some 40 odd years ago they were the first type of Salmon flies i tied.
A lot of the feathers i used then can,t be imported into the UK now.
I now i tie and use mostly Scandinavian style hairwings, much easier to tie and a lot more movement in the water.
