  • Trouble with drop shot knot

    Alright lads havin trouble with the above on me u.l. lrf . My 2lb fluro line wont let me pull the knot tight? ? Line is not damaged I have checked, will I be better off just sticking to the jig heads for this rod/line combo?? Cheers

    I would just put the hook straight on the line with a silicone tube stop not either side. Its much easier and adjustable

        I've struggle when going that light to be honest, it knots ok but doesn't look the best you could hate power gum for the stop knots instead

          What knot are you using and are you lubing it up enough with spit to allow it to slide and bed in?

            Don't know if your using the Polamar knot, but this is what I use for dropshotting. The only trouble you can generally have is tying the hook on pointing down instead of up!

                  Ensuring you don't tighten down until the knot slides together, pulling both mainline and tag end at same time, not pulling on tag end too much and that the line isn't caught anywhere all helps.

                  I did a couple of video guides to dropshot knots that may help. I prefer the blood loop method as it locks the hook in place.
