Has anyone had any decent sport for perch in the newcastle area?
    Or know anyone that has?

When i was last there (about 3 years ago) I was opposite the dam wall using maggots as ground bait and worm on a size 16 hook and I had plenty of the little buggers.

I also cought a 4inch perch on a 5inch lure near the nature reserve on the north shore.

My mate cought a one about 1lb on the south shore half way along.

        Marky,

Marden Quary used to have a decent amount of perch in. (when I say used to I mean about 10 years since I last fished there).

        Cheers,

        Lee

Both lakes at Killingworth have always done decent Perch (day ticket from sports centre), and Throckley Reith (run by the TAA) holds some decent ones too. You`ll struggle until it warms up though, as most of our local waters are shallow and affected more by the cold weather.
