  • Nowt special but I'm happy

    Alright lads.

I bought my savage gear bushwacker yesterday so I had to go and try it today.

I went along marsden and fished off the bit rock to the left of camels island tried a spinner a couple of jellies and a plug for an hour. Lost 2 jellies and the spinner but I was having fun. I'm well impressed how far the rod casts a Texas rig with a 10g bullet.

Not a sniff there so I moved along to the concrete ramp with the smashed pipe and same again there. Lost me wedge lure as well so I walked back to the car and went to roker pier.

Stopped along the pier between the steps and fished with the Texas rig again and after about 5 chucks I caught this. Small cod.

I was chuffed to bits. I wasn't sure it was a bite at first cos I was dragging the lure along the bottom and it kept catching but then I felt it shake it's head and the end of me rod was knocking canny. I took it slow reeling it in cos it was toppa feeling the fish try to get away.

Only bother was I forgot my card for the lure challenge but never mind. I broke me new rod and reel in. That'll do me.

And cheers to the lads that helped me when I was lookin for my rod.
    All the gear, no idea.

Cheers lads. I was surprised how clear the water was when I was down marsden. I could see my lure about 5 ft under the water when it was close in.
