        Sea Scorpion

Having never caught on before, I managed three in a row this afternoon .

I think I'll need some help with IDing the second one. First one is definitely long spined.

They're both long-spined, James. The second one does have quite short spines for a long-spined bullhead though. I've had quite a few like that that I've needed to check the top lip and gill membrane on.

Common blenny I had today after watching it fight with a hermit crab over a bit of food

Look how vivid the eye spots are on it! One of my fave fish even though they do live up to their name making them a pain to unhook

Another one for me to add and a fish I've been after for yonks, tadpole fish

I'd love to catch a tadpole fish, nice one!

Almost didn't have the butterfish. Like you said, nightmare to unhook. Got the hook out and it wriggled out and almost went through the planks on the pier!

                        I've had that happen before!

I left the hook in whilst taking my pic then unhooked, just incase seeing as I'm a clumsy oaf

Did it have 3 or 5 barbels James? It's a bit hard to tell if it's a shadow or a barbel as its slightly blurry around its head

Sorry I didn't think to photo the head as I just thought it was a shore rockling. Caught it off rocky island so doubt it would be a three beard
