Tickets are now on sale in local tackle shops for this year’s Sunderland Shore Angling Festival which takes place on Sunday 29 November (2 to 6pm – weigh in by 6.45pm). Tickets will also be available on the day from The Welcome Tavern in High Street. Entry is £12 (juniors free with a paying adult). £2 from the entry fee will be paid out at 50%, 30% and 20% to the first places. Boundaries are from South Shields Pier (included as long as gates are open) in the north to Seaham North Pier (not including the pier) in the south and west up to Queen Alexandra Bridge. Anglers may fish in public areas only. First prize is £500, second is £300 and third is £200 plus a prize table valued at £6000.
