    hi thinking of heading upto the west coast in the next couple of weeks for a few days any ideas .is holy loch worth a go

    Holy loch and the Firth of Clyde area has suffered poor fishing for the last 20 years mate.
    You would be better off fishing either further north around loch Etive for Spurdog and thornies or down south in the Solway where you can catch a lot more species.....

      I live on the Clyde. All you will get at Holy Loch is mackerel and the odd small pollack, wrasse and doggies. Mull of Galloway is much better, decent pollack etc. Think about the east coast, around Arbroath, for good cod and pollack.
      2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .

          i agree the mull is a good place for pollock and wrass great fun on light gear and braid
