  • Sad news

Many anglers have asked about the lad who slipped yesterday while setting up prior to fishing the Open. As you may or may not have heard, he was in the water for some time before the rescue services could get to him.

It is with deep sadness that I must let you know that he has passed away.

The thoughts of everybody at Amble SAC, and I would hope the whole angling community, are with his family and friends at this very sad time.

                  sad news

So sorry for the lad, only 24. The conditions were awful yesterday, but like myself he only went out to fish a competition and do something he loved. Thoughts are with his family and his mates. RIP mate.
