  • Whitley Bay Open Summer League - match 6 (02/09)

Here's the result of last night's match, fished WBAS boundaries:

    1st - Chris Stringer, 7 fish for 8lb 9oz
    2nd - Gary Wilson, 4 fish for 6lb 0.5oz
    3rd - Steve Williams, 3 fish for 3lb 10oz

Heaviest fish, Gary Wilson, codling 2lb 3oz

    Cheers, Gary

PS - one more match to go on 17 Sept, looks like Steve Williams has it sewn up with a lead of about 15lb over second place; also currently has the heaviest fish at 6lb 13oz - can that be beaten next match???

Cheers mate - seems to be a fair few fish around at the moment, most marks threw up a few. Chris had around 30 fish in 3&1/2 hours, although only 7 were size the rest were not far short; in another month or two there should be plenty size fish around. I also missed/lost a real tripod-buckler of a bite that then slack-lined me before it was gone - would have had my rod if the butt wasn't wedged under the rock!

            Cheers, Gary

lol, i could have sworn i had a carp on last night!
i had gone to my box for somthing and left the reel on the ratchet. just got back to the stand and it bolted twice for a good few seconds. by the time i had picked it up and engaged the reel, it had gone lol
would have had the rod in otherwise.

plenty of big fish up at eyemouth last month, fresh run as well ;D
              fish every chuck.
same as my mate last night, he had a fish every chuck.
wasnt my night, missed loads of bites, had one size

Doing better than some, I've had loads of codling this summer, but not one of them was size.
