  • Durham Police Comp 21/5/10

This Comp was fished at the Timber Beach, at the Sunderland Business Park, on the North side of the Wear.
Fishing was from 1830 till 2230.
Weather was warm, on a rising tide.
Thirteen adults fished this comp, using the SAMF catch and release scoring chart,18cm and above, including guest appearances from Andy Rutherford(Rutherfords Tackle) and Dave Nevin (Northumbria)
Minutes into the match, Andy brought in a cracking 41cm Flounder, game over for the specimen fish prize, everyone thought.
Fishing was slow for around the first hour, until the coleys arrive, then it was hectic.
The fish wanted crab baits, and as quick as you chucked them out, your hooks were filled.
Average size of the coleys was around the 24cm, so canny sport.
Andy was soon into his match fishing stride, closely followed by Ian Ainsley and Dave Nevin, with at least two fish a chuck.
With minutes remaining to the end of the comp, Old Bill Huscroft pulled out a cracking 43cm Flounder to take the Specimen Fish, The smile on his face telling the story.
    All fish released after measuring.
    RESULTS.
