  • Whitley Bay winter league - 26/10/11

    11 fished tonight, 8 weighing in, and it was a tie for first place on weights (although technically I win with the larger number of fish):

    1st= Gary Wilson, 6 fish, 15lb 11oz, Blyth
    1st= Chris Stringer, 5 fish, 15lb 11oz, Blyth/Whitley
    3rd - Dave Bentley, 4 fish, 9lb 15.5oz, Whitley
    4th - Marty Elliot, 3 fish, 9lb 0.5oz, Whitley
    5th - Dave Milne, 2 fish, 8lb 12oz, Hartley
    6th - Mick Clark, 3 fish, 5lb 5.5oz, Hartley
    7th - Mick Wood, 1 fish, 3lb 10oz, Hartley
    8th - Ian Galbraith, 2 fish, 2lb 15oz, West Bay

    Heaviest fish - Chris Stringer, 6lb 2oz, Whitley

    All in all a pretty good night,

    Gary

          Oh yes, said to Chris on the way down that if I only got another flounder that I would go straight home! Wish the match had been an hour longer though as the fish really came on with the flood - all 3-4lb (only small ones & patchy on the ebb). I had 5 in the last 50 minutes but lost 2 at my feet as they were all just lipped. Another hour or more & I reckon I'd have struggled to drag the fish off the beach lol
