      Same for me last night, ended up using floating bead rigs and fishing a 15 minute cycle. At least with it being a match I was only using one rod

        Wasn't in the match but fished the bay at the bottom of the Spiles, directly in front of the steps from the top.

        Lovely deep water there and clean bottom for a good distance out too.
        Apart from a single attack by crabs on one hook, I didn't even get another twitch between 4.40 until 8.30 when I knocked off.

        Saw 3 lovely sized sea trout jumping from the very bottom of the Spiles and up along the length of the north pier.

        Does this spot fish well normally or what? I mean, even the crabs seemed to have done a bunk.
        Told the missus I was going on a diet. I'd only eat what I caught
