  • British Airways and the Hub.

Having some worm left from our comp on Sunday decided to have a few hours out today at local spots. Got to British Airways about 10.15 am using two rods with 2 hook flappers on each it was a fish a chuck.
Small Codlings and Flounders. Must have had about 20.
With the wind strengthening decided to drive down to the Hub. This was loads more comfortable and fished from back of the motor. Got small stuff here then decided after hour because of the weed and branches in water to go back and finish off at BA.
Nowt massive caught but kept busy and enjoyed myself.
    Mick.

Canny session Mick. Plenty fish in the river at the minute.

The Hub is a café one the quayside. Its right past the courts on the front as you head down river. The café is near where Spillars used to be. Big free car park and u can fish from back of motor.

U cannot park in the BA carpark at bottom. Use the road which leads down to it before the barrier. Best time to fish 2 hrs up and 2 hrs down. Muddy bottom. Keep path as clear as possible for cyclists and walkers.

Aye it can be a nightmare if heavy rain and big tides. You get loads of logs and weed coming down river. Best time on a nice day with a mid to low tide range. Mind I have been up on big tides and just lobbed my bait out. Still got Flatties.

fished it last monday 11/5/15, for old times sake, (have fished it for quite a few years), normally l find this spot agreat little spot, (as pointed bout by others), 2 hours either side of top water but occassionaly I have seen it fish its head off at low tide too, but that is very rare and requires a canny chuck out on low water to get past the mud. Interestingly, if you can put up with the jungle, across the river behind Cosco is also a great shot but requires a 'machette' to get through the under growth. Anyway, fished it last monday for a couple of hours and managed to winckle out three flatties, all returned to the river
