    [/IMG][/IMG]Well my son his pal and me fished the Tyne yesterday from 4am till 930pm in search of a Cod.

    NO COD

    34 Whitting

    2 Flat fish

    1 sea Trout we think? put back straight away and swam off hard and fast

    Baits used Mackerel Muscle Rag & lug most catches taken on Mackerel and Muscle cocktails. [IMG][/IMG]

    welldone on the fish m8 shame no cod turned up is that not one of them smelts looks a decent one too if it was

          Thanks i will let my son know as he caught it! he said it give a good fight for a small fish

              That couldnt be a smelt... never caught one myself so dont know but look at those sharp teeth!

                HI sorry never real noticed a smell from the fish as we were soaked with the odour of mackerel and muscle it had some canny teeth on it like

                    definately a smelt, should of weighed it as it looks a good'un and the nirth east record isnt that good i dont think, what could've been eh?

                        Its a first for me been fishing the Tyne since i was a lad and never seen one before are they rare in the Tyne has anybody else ever caught one before?
