  • sunday pier fishing venues.

    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can throw some advice my way please...I fancy doing some pier fishing on sunday. i live in gosforth which is about 5 miles or so from newcastle city centre. I hear tynemouth has a festival on over the weekend so doubt i'd be able to go there off the pier. I'm just stuck as to where else i could possibly go. i'm not a hardcore sea angler, prefer carp & coarse fishing more...but just want to get out and have a bit of fun and see if i can catch anything. Any suggestions would be appriciated!!!! Cheers Andy.

    hi m8,

you could try either blyth pier or south shields depends on how far you want to travel. Either pier can chuck up a few fishies for you.
Species 2012 - Cod, Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Pollock, Eelpout, Common eel, Granny Fish, Whiting, Coalie, LSD, Rockling, Bass.

        Hi

        im in Gosforth as well

tynemouth is club members only, with port of tyne guard throwing anyone else off during day time
South sheilds pier is worth a shot
I also head down to sunderland quite often,
but watch the size of the swell as its lower than the tyne piers and is closed sooner
Species 2015 - Cod, Bass, Flounder, Dab, LS Sea Scorpion
Species 2014 - Coalfish, Codling, Dab, Lobster, Weaver, LS Sea Scorpion, Flounder, Barracuda (Gran Canaria)
Species 2013 - Flounder, Whiting, Codling, Coalfish, pollack, dab, eel, Mackeral, Launce, eel pout, blenny, LS Sea Scorpion, Butterfish, Thin Lipped Mullet, thick Lipped Mullet, Gilt Head Bream, Black Bream, Yet to be identified Mediterainian Wrasse, Bass
