    Hello folks , today saw the first of the summer casting days at Wigtown , it was also presentation day for the 2006/7 trophy winners .
    The day began with bright sunshine and an easterly wind that was mainly down court occasionally veering across and varying 2 to 10mph during the day .
    Despite a smallish turnout some good distances were recorded , with the juniors doing especially well and several new pb’s set .

    Casting results ( all measurements in yards )

    Bob Collins 249-1-11 pb
    Rab O’Neill 222-0-5
    Pete Ingham 219-1-0
    Bert Moore 216-1-7
    Andy Collins ( JNR) 179-0-10 pb
    Andrew Knotts 158-0-3
    Kyle Knotts (JNR) 103-0-7 pb
    Caitlin Knotts (JNR) 63-0-11 pb

    Iain Graham and Paul Johnstone also passed 1000yd totals over 4 different weights .
    Iain 244-0-10 (100g) 253-2-0 (125g) 269-0-5 (150g) 260-1-2 (175g) =1027-1-5
    Paul 240-2-9 (100g) 265-1-9 (125g) 253-2-4 (150g)pb 251-0-5 (175g) pb

    After the casting the trophys were awarded for the 2006/2007 season.
    The winners were as follows ;

    GroupA 1st Pete Ingham
    2nd Paul Johnstone
    3rd Billy Russell

    GroupB 1st Bob Collins
    2nd Rab O’Neill

    GroupC 1st Bert Moore
    2nd John Stevenson

    Group D 1st Andy Collins
    2nd Andrew Knotts
    3rd Caitlin Knotts

    Juniors 1st Andy Collins
    2nd Caitlin Knotts
    3rd Kyle Knotts
    4th Amie Russell

    Light Line 1st Billy Russell
    2nd Paul Johnstone
    3rd Bob Collins

    Scottish Champion Paul Johnstone

    Andy Collins and Bert Moore also won prizes for being the most improved casters over the season

    Well done to all and many thanks to all who took part .


    Pete Ingham (Purglasspete) is taking a break from casting for a year or so and will be offline for some time , if anyone requires to get in touch with him if you pm me I will pass it on .

        Well done everyone on an outstanding season lookin at the pics its almost a year since I was up there and the weens have grown ..well done to kyle on the 100 yrd mark mate and caitlin the perseverence is paying off and you'll soon be givin ya dad a run for his money

        Well done to all those that turn out for this event as it really is a crackin day out !!

        Paul J well done on the scottish champ mate!! lets hope the forth coming season sees more pb's achieved

        Pete you really are the nutter in the field mate and will be a miss on here and most definately at these casting events thanks for posting the results mate it really is appreciated !!
