    NWSA results 2.12.07

An event in December is unheard of at the NWSA, but there we were on one of the wettest days in my memory of casting…but why? Well, all week 30mph winds had been forecast for the Sunday and many were very keen to try it…and what did we get?...well there was a slight breeze from the south 3mph and by the time the court was set it was slightly across along with some heavy rain which was almost constant all day, the odd gust of wind to 7mph, but as the morning went on the wind shifted slowl y 180 degrees and then all afternoon it was in our face at 7mph until the last round when it dropped off completely!
Pressure had been dropping all day from 990 to 980.
All in all a very wet day but there they were cast after cast the members slugged it out and made the best of it … Thumb slip for some was a problem with so much of the wet stuff about, but yet some had it completely under control.
The cane rod came out again with two of the lads trying to tame it, but all in all a great day with lots of banter and very surprisingly only a few crackoffs.
Paul Johnstone won the event inbetween giving some casting instruction as well, while newcomer Haydn Williams came up from Wales for his first event and came 4th overall, a great achievement.

    Well done everybody.
