  • Advice on reel required

Had my first go at tournament casting on the 15th march at kirkleatham and had a fantastic day out picking up a lot of very useful hints/advice.One of the things that was pointed out to me was that my reel was not really suitable for the job (525 mag extra) a lot of the lads seem to be using abu 6500 reels, what i need to know is what type (IE mag wise/model) also if anyone has an address for somewhere that does conversions would be helpful. Thanks to all who helped me out on the day

it depends what weight of lead your going to cast mate. for weights upto and including125grm then a 5500 or 5000 size reel is best. for weights above this then a 6500 size reel is best and definately an abu. hope this helps you.
