Headed down with the floating gear around 5 this morning, getting hits straight away but could connect!!! as the sun got higher and i could see in the water a bit more clearly i realised why, i could see the shoals of small fish destroying my bait!! eventually got a small pollock for my efforts and decided to down size and find out what these little bliters were, as soon as the bait hit the water i was in, tiny little pollock about 5cm lol, they must have been thousands of them, swiftly put a bigger hook on again and tried to get somthing bigger, but failed had 1 about 15cms but every cast the little sods were stripping me. With that i decided a change of plan was in order and set up a ledger to try and get my first Sand Dancer Wrasse but failed there aswell and ended up with a Granny. Fed the rest of my worms to the Sprats and watched the feeding frenzy.
The water was crystal clear could even see the launce swimming around. with a bit luck some of them pollock will have got fat on my worms and be a bit bigger next time lol
Canny little play for a morning and a good sign for things to come me thinks, and to top it all off when i climbed back up onto there pier the nice man was emptying the bins and picking up litter i thought i'd come onto the wrong pier for a moment lol, if the lazy gets would use the bins this guy could have a weekend off and go fishing
