buying crab?

does any 1 no any tackle shops in sunderland,newcastle,south shields that sell crab? ive tried every where and can never get any.

You will find the tackle shops tend to keep the best bait to one side for their regular lads that are in every week etc, it is one thing turning up for bait once in a blue moon and another turning up on a regular basis buying bits n bobs and basically keeping the tackle shop owner in business, these lads get first shout at the good stuff. It is also wise to try and pre order some crab etc (while you are in buying some swivels and what have you) this will get you on the radar. Fishermans locker in southwick has had crab in lately and at a great price

No one sells crab for 10p each, 50p is the cheapest it ever goes for

Any less than 50p is real cheap in my opinion, most tackle shops and people who go out and get 'em sell them for 70 - 80p

like a lot of things its who you no, bauety of forumes its easy to talk to people from all over the place. theres quite a bit of crab for sale on wsf at the moment.

most of the crab available is the river stuff if you get the crab from the likes of whitburn were the weed tangles are they are a much better crab in my opion.

crack a river crab open its dull yellow.

crab from holly island etc a bright orange.

10p a PEELER, wish a could buy peeler for 40p it save me cycling 4 mile, going through my traps in 100yds metre's of stinking claggy mud,sometimes in a heavy rain cycling another 4mile home and by then the mud is dried and caked on have to have a shower using a nali brush to scuib mud off and after all that KNACKERED , 10p a crab is a joke dont know of any crabber thats sells crab for les than 40p and thats usually to mates, 70p + to all others

I wouldn't sell mine for less than 70p each, by the time ya pay the petrol money and 3+ hrs graftin to get them 70p is cheap!

I would just never do it for money anyway, way to much hard work for a couple of quid and the lads that do it for money, hat off to them as until people try it they dont understand the hard work to get them, keep them, clean traps and the list goes on

A few for own use and that is it and i have not and never will buy crab as the price is silly for one cast.
