Codfather

We left the marina at 6 this morning with a fresh wind behind us and a few whitecaps about, so we did'nt venture to far as the wind was forcast to pick up as the the day went on.

First drop down me and my dad were straight into cod, both bringing a 5-6 lber aboard. they were still very lively so we put them back hopeing to aplease the sea gods in return for a flatter sea.

The sea did'nt flatten off any but next drop down I was blessed with an 11 lb cod and my dad had a 9 lb er.
Over the next few hours we had almost a fish every drop, mostly in the 5-9 lb range, but my dad managed a cod of just over 10 lb, making it a double each for the day.

The wind was getting fresher so we headed in for dinner, happy with the morning out at sea.

Majority of fish were put back, we kept 4 for the pot.

Nice report Martin. Some nice full bellied specimens there.

Great fishing to be had off Hartlepool at the moment. Lets hope the weather is kind for the comp next weekend - the long range is giving very slight winds for next Sat.

You fishing it again?

Alan

Gonna have to miss this comp Alan.

If all goes to plan I should be half way to Norway when the comp starts, hopeing to try my luck for a halibut or two, been good to see them turning up at hartlepool lately aswel.
