I have tried fishing shore and boat in Spain, Greece, Turkey and France and all was cr*p, load of small stuff and every so often the crew run around the boat waving arms to keep you thinking something is out there bigger than 4".

Unless you go further outside the EU i would not waste your time thinking of it and stick to woman fishing.

Down under and such will be a fishermans dream but then so will it be a dream to have the money to do that sort of fishing :)

Key West

Key West

I went on Holiday to Key West a couple of years ago when the Drambue marlin championship were been held. The cost for a seat on a marlin boat was about $700 well out of my range but the locals also run family trips for about $30 half day with gear and bait included. The result of the day was that not one marlin was landed out of about 50 boats, but on our family boat we had a hoot, loads of fish like mackies and 2 lads caught a tuna each, wow what a laugh......they were been dragged all over but we all loved the day and drinks were a doller each imcluding beer. The lads sold the tuna at a local scran house for a slap up meal.
Key west i would reccomend for about 3 days but the east and west coast of florida are great places to fish for not too great an expense if you do your homework. Hope this helps :)

Ive fished Canada ,California,Australia,New Zealand ,Norway,Italy,Portugal,Canaries,Florida,Cuba and many others. In the end if your choosing for sun and normal holiday stuff then your not going to be hitting the best situation fishing wise unless your very lucky. As ever research the area your going with google etc get local on the ground knowledge.Thing is with fishing is that we all have favourite types for me I would rather catch a 3lb codling than a marlin. If you like shore fishing for the cod etc go on a guided tour in norway, that would be my dream trip.If you like warm weather just remember the whole dynamic of whats available changes and boat trips can be a rip off .I lived in L.A for 4 years and took my cod gear over ...the fear on the swimmers faces when I was pulling out 5 foot leopard sharks was a sight to behold...would still rather have a 3lb cod on a freezing night mind, must be viking genes or something!Good luck where ever you go
