Fished blyth beach last nigh, started on the sand bank between the three of us we must have had 15-20 small fish couple of canny flounders and coalies one 44cm i think. When flooded moved to the faster flowing part of the beach to the right of the sand bar another 15 or so fish and that was that ran out of bait. One downside i was intermittantly trying larger baits and on one occassion using small hooks i had a bite that bent the rod in half but did not connect with the small hook!!! gutted was a cracking bite not sure if it was a big fish or a lb or 2 fish with the beach beeing shallow it may have seemed bigger and pulled with more intensity?

Cracking night

Bit dark but heres a pic

Good night by the sound of it plenty of action.
Didn't mention the baits that were catching but hey you braved freezing weather and had a good sess... that's what it's about not catching to keep or eat necessarily :)

were you fishing the tide up mate going 2 try n get out 2 nite
Yeah that would have been on the up. Best if you can have a scout during the day as
first time i went i struggled to find the sand bank in the dark with no idea where it was. At least if you have some ideas in the light you can get some ref points for later

Do you have to wade through water to get on it or does it drain enough at low tide? I've fished there at low tide but not sure whether I was on it or not.

you can get on the sand bar no problem before low water but just be careful on the flood as it fills up behind you i was careful on small tide but still had two to three hours

Cheers fishy. I was on the sandbar.......I'd been told I'd have to wade through possibly above thigh waders deep.......wasn't as deep as I thought.
