Well with the School closed for polling a station my mam was off today so i took a few hours leave and decided to have a short sesh fishing, the plan was to fish a few rough ground marks and the odd close in wreck

I knew it was not going to be a flat day with a SE wind blowing and i was not wrong, to say it was hard standing up was an under statement but we set about fishing a few inshore marks since we had forced us up at 4.45am

Myself and my mam dropped close in and straight into coalie 5 at a time and odd pouting but no cod so we set off abit further away from the piers and we hit a mad 2hrs with cod on anything you put down, we drifted around taking a fish each every 5mins or so and all between 3lb-7lb...It was nice to catch after over a week of no fishing.

We landed 28 cod between us, 2 pouting,1 pollack and a poor cod along with loads of coalie.

I had the urge to fish 1 wreck so we set off abit further out to a wreck, not really a good idea as you can see from the pic, 20mph SE wind and big rollers, spray and white horses but it was worth it for me as i landed my first pollack of the year at about 5lb.

Nice few hours fishing 5am until 11.30am we kept 8 cod and put everything else back, to fight next weekend, busy from now until next week so no fishing until Monday i fear, thou looking at the weather dont think i will miss much, 2.6k was the drift at its peak today.

Still rocking now but ready to go again when the sea drops.

Well done Richie, nice to see they are still there. Damn good catch all things considered.

Lets hope the wind / conditions improve, want to get myself booked up for a trip soon.

Well done on the catch and getting out there, i just got back from the marina and it doesn't look too good out there now, big swells and a nasty chop.

pleased to see someone getting out fishing, even for a short session,

i've been watching the weather forcast all week and decided to spend this weekend at work, good luck to anyone who gets out, i'll have a go next wekend .......................:(

Well done to the two of you; the sea looked choppy today from the view on the Tynemouth webcam. With the forecast the way it is, your catch report is likely to be lonely over the weekend.

starting to look better from wednesday next week onwards rich. Im off thursday if you are off and the weather is favourable and you need some ballast.

Would that be Thursday the 12th or Thursday the 19th Jason ? Which ever one I'm OFF more ballast anyone.
Could make it a practise run and get the Team Stingray game plan sorted for A Lovely Day Out.
What Do You Say Richy.
